On October 24th, 2024, The New School Dhaka (NSD) hosted a meaningful celebration for United Nations Day, guided by the theme “End Racism. Build Peace.” The event aimed to instill values of unity, inclusion, and global harmony among students.
The celebration began with inspiring performances of the national and school anthems, setting a tone of pride and unity. This was followed by a thought-provoking religious speech that emphasized shared values and beliefs, fostering a sense of connection across cultural backgrounds. The day featured a delightful preschool performance, showcasing the creativity and enthusiasm of NSD’s youngest students. Following this, a captivating Bangla speech celebrated local heritage and culture, encouraging students to appreciate and respect their roots. A song competition and a spirited debate engaged students, giving them a platform to showcase their vocal talents and critical thinking skills. The debate, in particular, encouraged students to practice eloquence and respectful discourse on important global issues. In the later part of the event, a vibrant dance competition brought energy to the stage, with students expressing joy through artistic performances. The day concluded with a reflective closing speech, where gratitude was expressed to all participants, and the importance of peace and equality was underscored. Through this event, NSD demonstrated its commitment to nurturing globally-minded, compassionate citizens who are ready to make a positive impact in the world.
